Kimberly was born in 1968 in Las Vegas, Nevada and has lived in various areas of the country, including Alaska, Minnesota, Florida, Illinois, Missouri, Louisiana before landing in Virginia in 2018. Regardless of the location, she does not need to be convinced as to the beauty and the photographic opportunities found everywhere on our planet.
Kimberly was drawing even before she started attending school and took private art lessons throughout her childhood. Even then her preferred medium was pen and ink. But as college loomed she had convinced herself she needed to pursue something more technical and began college as an Astrophysics and Business double major. Inevitably, she needed an elective and on a whim took a photography class - from that moment on she was hooked.
Life’s road took her into a career in marketing and technical communications and she has been an independent consultant to numerous corporations and organizations over the last 25 years. Her projects and clients have included working at Kennedy Space Center on the Space Shuttle and with many of the top Fortune 500 government contractors including Johnson Controls, Martin Marietta and Harris Corporation.
In 2004 she finally took the leap in pursuing her photography full time as her career and life passion.
Kimberly creates images primarily using digital capture and prefers landscapes in black and white, as when she was young, in order to capture the full impact and beauty of the scene in front of her. Because of the nature of a true digital workflow, she is able to travel and create images in real time which brings the instant satisfaction of ensuring her vision has been made in
the camera.
